Getting Back into the Swing of Things (week in pictures/day 29-35)

13 June 2010 4 Comments Disclosure

Phew! What a whirlwind kind of a week. Why is it that anytime I come back from a “vacation” it takes nearly a week to try to get back into the groove of things? Just taking those few days off last week to do the Walmart trip has thrown off my weekly schedule tremendously. Why is it so hard to get back into the groove of thing? It’s like my mind is still in Arkansas.

29/365: Delete. 30/365: Edit

The first part of this week I spent the majority of the time slicing and dicing up the video from the Shareholder’s meeting. Trying to trim a video down to 10 minutes is a very hard task to accomplish. There are many good parts that just have to be left on the cutting room floor, sadly. I’m glad that I got it all edited though and up on my youtube channel if you want to check it out or missed it when I posted it earlier in the week.

31/365: Here is a pic of the back

I tried a new hairstyle this week. I don’t know about where you live, but where I stay it is extremely hot. Throwing my hair in a ponytail everyday just wasn’t cutting it anymore, I wanted something cute (not that ponytails aren’t cute, its just that mine is small because I’m in the middle of the growing out phase, so there isn’t much ponytail to speak of). I took to youtube to find a cute messy up-do tutorial. I think the end result is really cute. This style will probably be something I rock a lot this summer instead of a ponytail. BTW, youtube is fabulous for finding tutorials on a lot of things.

32/365: It's going to be an early night for me

Since we barely had any sleep on my trip, this week I’ve been trying to get a few hours that I missed squeezed in. It seems that I’m starting to get more tired earlier in the day than I’m used to. By like 8pm I’m ready to go to bed. I make myself go to sleep later just so I’m not up at the crack of dawn the next morning. If you don’t know, I do not do mornings. At. All. Not a morning person in the slightest. Somedays I really wished I were a morning person, though. I think of all the things I could get done before the kidlets wake up but when that alarm clock goes off…the snooze button is my best friend.

33/365: Hello, sun.

Since it is beginning to get really hot here, the kidlets and I have to enjoy the sunny weather in the morning (before lunch) when its not as hot as its going to be for that day. Which is OK, its just finding something fun to do indoors later in the day that can be a problem. What do you do with the kids on hot summer afternoons? What can of activities do you like to do to pass the time when stuck indoors?

34/365: Sunkissed 35/365: Humid

This is a bit of a random post with my thought process jumping from one subject to the other. I apologize. But it pretty much sums up my week of getting back on schedule. Oh and for those that are wonder. No, I haven’t unpacked yet. My bag is still sitting in the same place I laid it when I first came home. Maybe I should just leave it packed for the next trip?

NOTE:
I took the photos in this post on my iPhone. The quality isn’t that great, I know, but I’m playing around with different apps to try and find one that produces semi-good photos. If you know of any good photo apps for iPhone, let me know.

SIDE NOTE:
We are using a shiny new comment system here at thedomesticdiva.org called Intense Debate. I would love it if you would try it out and leave your thoughts on how you like it. Is it better than the old one? Do you like the look and special features? What are your thoughts?

I love your messy updo thing. My hair is also in the growing out process and I'm getting really sick of the messy bun on top of my head.

I used to use Intense Debate but really didn't like it and a friend of mine had a horrendous time with their support. So I switched to Disqus and it has been going great for over a year now, I think. Wow, I forgot how long I've been blogging for…

That is funny. If you find any cute hairstyles, make sure u pass them along.
I think I used disqus in the past but didn't really like them. It is probably all a matter of preference. I just want to make it easy for people to comment and maybe a bit fun too. Thanks for leaving your comment. If you ever run into problems when trying to comment, please let me know.

I meant to ask you, did you like the Corel Video Studio you won? How's it working out for you?
My recent post Beco Baby Carrier WINNER!!!

Yes, I love it! Well, the company actually sent me additional software to blog about that I love even more than Video Studio alone. Corel Videostudio Pro x3 (one of the additional programs they sent me) is what I use to make my videos now. No more WMM for me! The more I use the software the more I learn to love it. It does take time getting used to, like most things, but once you learn simple editing tricks it's so much fun.
