Walmart Moms trip to Walmart Global Headquarters 2010 (#wmt2010)

7 June 2010 9 Comments Disclosure

If you have been following me on twitter then you would know that I recently took a trip with my fellow Walmart Moms to Walmart’s Global Headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas. Walmart provided us with a trip to not only learn more about their company and have the chance to speak with execs but also to attend the Shareholder’s and Saturday Morning Meetings.

I had an absolute fabulous time. The Walmart Moms are a great group of women. I wish I could find the words to describe the feeling I have meeting such a great group of bloggers but I’m afraid there are not enough words to describe how awesome they are.

The highlight of my trip wasn’t seeing the various celebs like Jamie Foxx, Enrique Iglesias, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Lee DeWyze, Josh Groban, and Sheryl Crow. Nope. The highlight of my trip was meeting and hanging out with Mr. Rollback himself!!! I loved hearing his story of how he went from a regular dude to this “celeb” overnight. Great story. I also love how Walmart used one of their actual employees to make their newest commercials.

This trip was a lot different from my first trip to Bentonville. Its an experience I wish everyone could participate in. Seeing sort of the “behinds the scenes of Walmart” is a great eye opener and gives me a better understand of the company in general.

If interested you can Watch the Walmart Shareholder’s Meeting 2010 online. Or search #wmt2010 on twitter and see photos from the event on flickr.

Disclosure: I am one of the Walmart Moms. Walmart flew me out to Bentonville, AR to visit Walmart’s Global Headquarters, Sharholder’s Meeting 2010, and attend the Saturday Morning Meeting. This was my experience at the events. All opinions are 100% my own.

Sorry I missed you in Arkansas! looks fun. See you are reading Sookie! I am obsessed. Read them all and I’m watching Season 2 of True Blood on DVD right now.

@ClassyMommy, I missed having your bubbly spirit around too. Hopefully we will see each other at another blogging event very soon.
Yes, I am reading the Sookie Stackhouse series. I’m obsessed with True Blood and find myself reading the books between seasons to satisfy my craving.

Looks like it was such a fun event. However, I was green with envy as the tweets came in from you and the other moms announcing which great performers you were seeing on stage, as it was happening. SO cool!

Side note, it's cool to see some of the Intense Debate plugins in use here that I haven't tried yet, I'm definitely going to have to use the CommentLuv plugin.

It absolutely was a fun event, just like our first trip. But anytime you get together (outside of the internet) with a group of people that you consider friends, you're bound to have a blast.

Thanks for showing me the intense debate comment system on your blog. So far I'm really loving it. It has a nice *pop* to it and looks to make commenting a bit more fun. I'm looking forward to hopefully having more people commenting and joining in on the conversation. You, my friend, was the inspiration behind trying intense debate. So THANK YOU!

This event looked phenomenal. Such a great opportunity to meet great folks all across the board.

I love intense debate. I had it on all three of my sites for months but no one "got it". If my image doesn't show up for a particular commenting system…I go sign up! Cracks me up :-) So I ended up taking it off because I think it was confusing my readers. Oh I miss you ID. ____I do love my wibiya tool bar though. Have you ladies checked that out yet? It's been around for a minute too but they've added some really cool features. I'm all about the gadget.____

Thanks for sharing your trips! Totally diggin Mr. RollBack's Story.

I am the same way. I'm always signing up for other accounts just so I can upload an avatar :P I had the wibiya toolbar for a while but wasn't sure if anyone was using it so it got uninstalled. What kind of new features do they have? I'd love to know if it is worth reinstalling. I love gadgets too but I kind of have to pick and choose which ones I like the most so it doesn't slow down my site too much.

Adding Plug-ins do slow it all down and I'm not a coder {but I'm learning} I've been going through one by one of my plug-ins and figuring out the coding so I can eventually get rid of them all {or mostly all} HUGE task!

Let's see, what new with wibiya? I love seeing facebook activity because I do sometimes forget to click over, tweeting from your site, and now you can make a little change too. Just a little added bonus. I love to chat so having the chat feature and letting readers watch all of my YouTube video {really there isn't much right now} but they don't need to leave my site. Bounce rate…way down!
I love your new site layout by the way. I haven't been over for a minute. Before I submerged myself into my photography, cupcake & deal blog I had loads of time to surf and connect. I miss it so. Looks great girl!!

that sounds like a good idea going through the plugins. It is a great way to learn trying to figure out what certain things do.

The youtube connectivity is new to me. I might have to start using wibiya again just for that. Ive been trying to find a youtube player that was cute but not having much luck. I like I mentioned earlier not too keen on installing another plugin. I'll have to go over to your site and have a looksy :)

Thanks for the compliments. Many people love the new theme, as do I. The arthemia theme does a nice job of organizing everything.

Now I remember the problem I had with wibiya…while I think the concept of the toolbar is awesome…especially now that they have youtube integration. I didn't like that if you have youtube videos embed in posts that the toolbar goes behind rather than in front of the video when scrolling through the page. That is my only drawback. I wish they would fix this minor issue.
