I woke up early for one dollar flip flops (Day 14)

22 May 2010 8 Comments Disclosure

Me and mornings don’t work well together. But tell me that there is a $1 flip flop sale at Old Navy and I’ll be there when the doors are open!!

14/365

This year my goal was to get a pair of Navy flip flops. When I arrived at 10 minutes before 7am, the line was all the way down the strip (almost two entire stores down). Rolling my eyes, I got in the back of the line praying the entire time that I hoped no one else wanted my Navy flip flops. The doors swung open and the limit of 5 flip flops per customer was announced. It was a madhouse to say the least. I’m glad that I decided to tackle the crowd alone because I was practically in and out of the store in five minutes. Even though I was at the back of the line to enter the store, I was one of the first to check out.

I couldn’t be happier with my navy flip flops. It’s funny because they aren’t just any old pair of flip flops, these flip flops have a story. A story of being cheap and desirable (LOL).

So the inevitable question, was it worth waking up for? Absolutely!

Did you tackle the $1 flip flop sale? What colors were on your list?

You’re a brave soul. I’ve seen a few videos on YouTube of the $1 flip flop sale. It’s worse than the day after Thanksgiving.

I am so jealous! I live nowhere bear an Old Navy, so I woke up early for the sale to pout. :) But if I were to get a pair, I would want plaid, anything plaid!

LOL I don’t know if we had this here. If we did, I didn’t need to know about it. I own 11 or 12 pairs, all but 2 of which are old navy. YES I have a pair to match everything. Sad but true.

Congrats on grabbing a pair! As for me, eh, you couldn’t pay me (well, okay, maybe you could, but it would have to be significant…) to stand in line and battle other people for flip-flops! The $2 or so savings just isn’t worth it to me, haha.

@Jenn, I know what you mean. I don’t do the whole day after thanksgiving shopping craziness but feel I should participate in one of them so I choose the $1 flip flop sale.

@Regalbeads, that is my goal. I would like to have one of each color then hopefully I won’t have to buy anymore except to replace them.

@Chelcie, plaid flip flops would totally rock!

@Pink, it is very crazy. But the craziness is usually over after the first hour.
