MySims Agents and Hasbro Family Game Night 2 for the Wii

14 December 2009 8 Comments Disclosure

Yesterday I talked about my infatuation with the Nintendo Wii and today I’m going to share my opinions on two games. A representative for EA recently contacted me to see if I would be interested in testing out two new Wii games. Since we are so new to the Wii experience we wanted to see what other games were like for the system. EA sent me MySims Agents and Hasbro Family Game Night 2 to which I will share my own personal experience with both.

First let’s talk about MySims Agents. Before receiving the copy of the game, I had never before played any of the MySims titles. Upon starting it up I could tell that this game is definitely for older kids or adults due to the fact that you need to know how to read in order to actually play the game. This was a bit of a bummer for my kids since they are so young and not quite at the reading stage yet. So as the one primarily playing the game I can say that I actually have become to be quite attached to this game. I found myself not wanting to put it down. The object of the game is to try and figure out the mysteries by roaming the town, talking to characters, and looking for clues. I enjoyed playing MySims Agents so much that I decided to go out and purchase MySims Racing on my own to play with the kidlets. I really enjoy playing with the MySims characters and customizing them to my likeness. MySims Agents is my go-to game when I want to relax after a tiresome day. If we want to play this game as a family then we simply read the instructions outloud which doesn’t phase the children much since they like to watch mommy play video games anyways, besides its cute to see them try and help mommy solve the mystery. MySims Agents is perhaps my favorite game out of the two I am mentioning in this post.

Secondly, Hasbro Family Game Night 2 does what it is intended to do give families a fun way to play the Wii together. Classic board games like Connect 4, Jenga, Pictureka, Operation, and Bop It! hit the Wii screen to help families not only play fun games together but also not have to worry about keeping up with board game pieces. If your family is like mine, you like the idea of board games to play together as a family but with little ones around the house important game pieces always seem to end up missing. I like that Family Game Night 2 is easy to play so even the young kids can try their hand at playing as well. Even though they are not as skilled as the older ones its still fun to try, right?

What Wii Games do you like to play?

We are trying to build our Wii games library and would love to know what games you would recommend. Please leave your Wii game suggestions in the comment section of this post.

What Wii Games are on your wishlist?

If I had to choose a few games that I would love to play on the Wii that I do not have yet it would be the New Super Mario Bros because I love me some Super Mario Bros. (it reminds me of my childhood) and MySims Party to play with the kidlets.
What games do you want to get for your Wii?

Disclosure: Foghorn PR sent me the following Wii games: MySims Agents & Family Game Night 2 to review in my home. The opinions in this post are strictly my own and do not represent those of the company itself. We enjoy playing the LEGO games for the Wii. There are Batman, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones versions currently out, and a Harry Potter version coming out in January. I also really like MySims and Mario Party 8!

On my wishlist is MySims Agents and Family Feud.

My favorite Wii game is Super Paper Mario. Mario goes 3-d. I don’t care for games that require the nunchuck because I’m not the most coordinated person.

Since we have the Xbox 360 that we play primarily, we have all of he Lego games, and they’re a lot of fun. Too hard for little kids, like your children’s ages, but they’re a lot of fun.

@Jacklyn, you’re not coordinated? I’m the worst…hands down its like my brain and my body do two different things when trying to work as a team, its just awful! I saw Super Paper Mario and it looked like a fun game to play, I think any Mario game at this point would be fun to me since I’m such a fan of the M. Bros.

@Kecia, I bet my kidlets would like Lego Batman or Star Wars, they are big fans. I’m going to look into it thanks for the recommendations. What is the goal in MySims? I really liked the Agent one and the racing one, do you think I would like it?

I love the Wii Fit and plan to try out EA Active Sports soon, just got it. We would love to have the family game party one you mentioned, it looks amazing!

We just got Super Mario Bros Wii and we all absolutely love it. Two other good ones for you and your kids to try would be Mario Galaxy and MySims Kingdom.

@MommaDJane, I want to get the Jump Start game for my oldest son, he loves playing it on the computer. Keep me posted on the EA Active, I’m looking into that one too.
