WE did something a little different this Thanksgiving. Since my sister and her family were celebrating with her in-laws on Thursday, we decided to have our celebration on Friday so we could include her (and the cousins always want to get together.) That left Thanksgiving Day open for something else. I wanted to find a soup kitchen where we could volunteer, but I had trouble finding an organization that would let kids help. Fianally, I found a place that was looking for helpers to come cook a Thanksgiving meal for 100-150 people who had no where else to go. Our whole family went, and it was so satisfying to make pies, prepare turkeys, side dishes, etc. from scratch to help others. It was the best Thanksgiving ever!
