For the past several weeks, in my beauty bag, I’ve been testing out some products that L’oreal sent me. Below I will highlight a few of the things that I liked about each product as well as show some ways in which I like to use them personally.

Lips
First on our list is the Colour Riche Anti-Aging Serum Lipcolour. Out of the ones that I was given to try, my favorite has got to be #102. I adore pink shades and this lipcolour was the perfect everyday pink (for my skin tone, in my opinion). So if I’m going for an everyday look but want to punch up the “wow!” factor just a bit that #102 shade is what I gravitate towards most definitely.
But as you can see in a few photos below that I did try my hand at some other looks and they weren’t that bad (were are talking the red lips look here), they just aren’t my everyday look or what I feel most comfortable wearing. People that can pull of that red lip, more power too ya, I so wish I was confident enough to rock it everyday.
Next, Infallible Never Fail Plumping Lipgloss. Ahhh, gloss how do I love thee. I’m a total gloss kind of a girl, so these products were of special interest to me. And again the lightest pink shade, #106, is the one I’m drawn the most to. It closely resembles my natural lip color and gives enough gloss for an average day. I did on the other hand find that this gloss can be a bit sticky and drying after a while but I still like to wear it because it is such a cute shade. The glosses aren’t as pigmented as the lipcolours so if one is playing up their eyes and wants just a hint of color on, the lip a gloss is the way to go. Along with wearing the gloss alone, one can also apply the gloss on top of a lipstick to add shine, which is another trick that I like to do when playing up my lips.
Eyes
Now onto the eyes, which is my favorite part. Anyone that knows me knows that I love to play up my blue eyes. Its my feature, it is what I like to highlight the most on my face which helps me draw attention away from my freckles and small lips ^_^.
HIP High Intensity Pigments Matte Shadow Duos in my opinion have a great color pay-off, more so after applying an eyeshadow base (I use L’oreal DeCrease as my eyeshadow base just because I can easily find it at a drugstore or supercenter). I also like the fact that the HIP duos are matte finish. I’m not one for much sparkle or glitz, I like it plain and simple but don’t want to compromise that pop of color. If I’m in a festive mood you better believe my makeup for that day will be festive as well, its just how I like to express myself.
So I really like the HIP matte shadow duos and I also grew a liking to the HIP High Intensity Pigments Chrome Eyeliners. I’ve been a gel liner convert for the better part of this year so to go back to a physical pencil liner was a bit of a shock to me. What made me steer away from pencil liners to begin with was the fact that they didn’t glide very smoothly across my lid and when working with a delicate eye area I didn’t want too much tugging to be going on. But despite my hesitations I gave the HIP Chrome Eyeliners a go and was pleasantly surprised at how smooth these liners were. They glided across my lid just as my favorite gel eyeliner would. The vibrant colors and staying power (thanks to a eyeshadow base) opened my shut off mind on pencil liners back up again. My favorite of the 4 liners I tried was obviously the black since that is the color I would predominately wear in my everyday makeup routine with silver and the purple color coming in at a close second.
The Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara is still one of my favorite mascaras to use, in fact it is the mascara that I use practically everyday.
The Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair Eye isn’t something I can speak about from experience since at this point and time I do not have any wrinkles around my eye area *knock on wood* but those of you that have tried this product if you feel the need to share your story then please do in the comment section of this post.
Swatches
As one can see in the photo below, eyeshadow base is key when using eyeshadows not only because it allows the shadows to stay on for longer periods of time but also because it gives eyeshadow colors a more vibrant appearance.
