Coffee Addict tests Community Coffee

4 November 2009 No Comment Disclosure

communitycoffeeCommunity Coffee recently contacted me wanting me to test and try out their line of coffees. So with their permission, I scanned their online store and picked a few coffees that I wanted to try out in my own home. Over the next several weeks with the coffee that Community Coffee provided to me, I tested their coffee in my everyday routine (which is typically my morning ritual).

If one has been reading this blog for a while, one would know that I’m a huge coffee fanatic. I love the stuff, and often believe that it runs through my veins.

I’m an espresso lover and already own an espresso machine that I use every morning to make my latte’s. I wanted to see if Community Coffee would fit in well with my espresso machine so I got started testing the first day that the coffee arrived at my doorstep.

One of the first coffees that I tested out was the Medium Roast (Whole Bean). I choose whole bean because I like to grind my own beans at home for a fresher cup of coffee in the morning. To me there is no better smell than freshly ground beans. When I opened the package I was a little taken back by what I saw. I’m used to seeing shiny coffee beans starring back at me from my preferred brand but this was not the case. Community Coffee beans are dull in appearance but not dull in flavor. I went with Medium Roast just to be on the safe side because I didn’t want a bitter coffee when I ran it through my espresso machine but I think I could have gone up to the Dark Roast and had been just fine in my choosing. The Medium Roast made a nice, light smooth latte’ which is great for my afternoon pick-me-ups.

Now onto something a bit more creative…Since I’m a southern girl, the Pecan Praline Flavored Blend of Coffee really stood out to me. I knew I had to try it. I could definitely taste the flavors in this coffee. While it might not be a favorite of mine, probably best suited for a drip-coffee machine, its good for a change from the everyday. Those that don’t like a sugar-free after taste might not like this one as well which was my problem.

The Mocha Cappuccino is what I chose as a quick-fix on those morning I don’t feel like fooling with espresso and steaming milk. I followed the directions on the can but I found that it was a little too “watery” so adding an additional scoop of the mix left a nice chocolate taste to the drink.

My favorite coffee from Community Coffee out of all of the ones that I tried in my taste test was the Kona Blend (whole bean) and I didn’t even pick this one out for myself. A rep for the company said that she thought I would like this blend the best so of course I gave it a go. She was right! Loved this one in my espresso machine the most.

I’m an accessories type of person and when enjoying my favorite coffee there is no exception. The Tumbler and Coffee-Fresh Canister were perfect compliments to my Community Coffee experience.
