Product Roundup for Kids (Olive Kids, Jakks Pacific, Begin Smart Books)
Christmas if fast approaching so I thought it best to start compiling “mini gift guides” from now until Christmas to showcase some of the hottest toys that will be on the market this year.
To get things off, we are talking customization. Kids and customized products are very cool, in my opinion. When the folks at Olive Kids contacted me wanted to know which place mat and plate my boys would prefer, the choice was easy for them to make. Since my youngest son is all into Dinosaur Train, a new show on PBS! Kids, he couldn’t help but scream that he wanted the Dinosaur set (see DinosaurLand Personalized Plate Set Theme). My oldest son loved the outer space theme (see Out of this World personalized plate set theme). When the plates and placemats came in the mail, the boys jumped for joy seeing their names on the plate sets that they helped pick out. They beg to eat with their specific plates so much so that my youngest has somehow managed to hide his favorite plate somewhere in the house :) Check out the Meal Time Plate Sets at Olive Kids as well as their other personalized gift ideas.
Jakks Pacific recently sent my boys one of their newest toys, the GX Extreme Performance Vehicles, to test out in our home. My kidlets are still fairly young so they didn’t meet the age requirement for the toys of 6+, so they needed mommy’s assistance in setting the track up, and actually using the track itself. Since my boys couldn’t play with the toy itself without my assistance I do think the toy is better suited for children 6+. To get the GX Racers to perform their tricks on specific tracks one must insert then pull a zip cord then place the car on the track and watch it go which makes it harder for younger children to use this product. Its a neat product, but definitely for the older guys.
Next on today’s list is books for babies. Begin Smart Books is a collection of books for children ages 0-24 months. The Begin Smart representatives recently sent me a sample pack of some of their best selling books from each age group. Look through the package the books have a couple things in common, they are cute, appealing, and well made. Despite my youngest child being just over the 24 month mark, he still enjoyed playing with the books that were near his age range, like “How Many Beeps” and “Hooray for Hands”. Stay tuned for more Product roundups coming soon as the holidays near.
