Wow, it seems I’m getting old FAST! Just the other day I was a young thang straight out of highschool with no clue as to what I wanted to do. Started a couple of jobs, went to college, then I met the love of my life and the rest was, well history as they say. Now I look back on the last several years and see how far I’ve really come. I got married, birthed two adorable little boys, and started a blogging adventure that would soon become the career of my life. I never thought I would be writer of all things but in fact it has become my passion second to raising my beautiful boys.
So how does this Domestic Diva spend her birthdays? With crablegs of course. It is a tradition of mine that on or near my birthday I attempt to consume as many crablegs as humanly possible and this year was no exception. My father set up a fabulous spread for my mother and I. My mom has a birthday just two days before mine and my husband four days before mine so we often celebrate it together. Granted though my mother and I both have a huge desire to have crablegs as our birthday dinner around this time of year, so it worked out great to have a huge birthday bash centered around our favorite foods.
This year though, my Dad got me the best present ever. A new lens for my Sony Alpha camera! This lens rocks!!! It is a Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD macro 1:2. It takes really awesome photographs like this, this, and this.
Here is a photograph of my lens collection thus far….

Many of the lenses that you see were given to me by my father since he is after all the “professional photographer” of the family at the moment. He has taught me a lot of what I know about photography and is such a great help when I have an idea for a photograph but don’t really know how to accomplish it. He is my go-to photo dude! It really is great though to have a role model in my photography that is so close to me. I’m truly blessed in that aspect.
My husband redid my work at home office for me so that I can have a better space to collect my thoughts. This was such an awesome and thoughtful present for him to give me. I’m truly loving my new work at home space. Sadly though I do not have any photos at the moment to show you but I will in a couple of days so you will just have to wait a little while longer to see them.
As quickly as my birthday has come and gone, it now seems like I am busier than ever. I hardly have time to breath. Being a work at home mom is not an easy task but I am so thankful that I have such a wonderful family to support me in all that I do. Thanks guys for making my birthday and everyday so very special, I love you all from the bottom of my heart. You rock!
Also a great BIG special thanks to all of my twitter pals that wished me so many well birthday wishes.
